WHAT I KNOW: God loves me where I am.
Romans 5:8 – God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 2:4-5 – God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved…
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
This is fundamental, because if we don’t really believe that God loves us in the place we are today, how can we turn to Him in order to accept His love? You’re not going to hug a stranger, thats obvious.
Sure you say, I feel inadequate. I feel guilty, condemned. Yes. God is the judge. But heres the best part – Jesus is your advocate. You have a way back into the family. EVERY TIME. God’s grace is big enough for all your shortcomings, He never not wants you. He DIED for you. He faced the uncertainty in death: FOR YOU! We have no clue what happens after you die, really. We cant prove anything. But Jesus said “Ok, I’m willing to die, to not know whats going to happen for sure once I die. I’m willing to do it for her. For Sarah.”
Thats my GOD. My person God. Jesus said “Ill lead you to God, my Father. Just follow me.” Did any other leader ever say that?
Jesus died. He faced what we try to defeat. Why are we so afraid to let go? To let go of the things that are holding us back from a full, unhindered relationship with our Creator?
You know I watched too many vampire shows not so long ago. And despite my reluctance to say that now, I learned something from the relationship a vampire has with its maker. They would do anything for their maker, they would rather die than see their maker be hurt. Why aren’t we as devoted? Why aren’t we more committed? Our lives are actually real! We are actually capable of showing that kind of emotion to our Maker. We are able to show Him with our actions and with our words how much He means to us. We can share His love in the circles around us. We can try better today. Press on TOWARDS the mark. Forget about yesterday. Jesus loves you today, right now, this moment. He doesn’t care what you did this morning or last night.
He just wants you.
All of you.
Jesus wants your heart because HE is full of love for you. He wants to give you everything.
He wants you to realize that He loves you in the here and now.
Share your love…
